Summer Clay Date - pottery in the garden
This summer, our Clay Dates move outdoors. We're taking our beloved pottery dates out of the studio and into a garden in the north of Berlin - greenhouse, plants, golden light, and clay.
Sit down at our big communal table inside the greenhouse, elbow to elbow with new people, hands in the clay, plants growing all around you. Or claim one of the smaller private tables scattered through the garden. Either way, it's the same idea we always come back to at Clay Stories Berlin: slow down, work with your hands, and let a bit of nature and good company do the rest.
What to expect:
- A relaxed, intuitive pottery session - no experience needed
- Communal seating in the greenhouse or a smaller table in the garden
- An event built for connection: meet new people, bring a friend, or come solo
- Clay, plants, and the kind of unhurried atmosphere gardens are made for
How it works:
- Book a table spot for 2 hours (you're welcome to stay longer in the garden)
- Come to the garden, where you'll get clay, tools, and a beginner-friendly instruction booklet covering a range of handbuilding techniques - it's easy to follow even if you've never touched clay before (*we'll also be happy to give you advice!) Instruction booklets are available in English and German.
- Get inspired by nature, make a cup, a vase, a bowl or anything you want!
- We take care of the glazing and kiln firing
- Come back to our studio in Prenzlauerberg to collect your finished pieces in around 3–5 weeks
€55 per person - all materials, glazing, and firing included.

Please note: this is a self-guided handbuilding session. It does not involve working on a pottery wheel or painting on pre-made ceramics.
Cancellation policy:
- Cancel up to 14 days before your clay date for a full refund
- up to 7 days before the clay date: reschedule to a different date
- Cancellations within 7 days of the class are non-refundable, but you're welcome to transfer your spot to a friend — just contact us with their name in advance
And what if it rains? No stress - our greenhouse is spacious and cosy, rain or shine. Even on a grey day, it's a perfect spot to sit, shape clay, and lose track of time. In case of extremely bad weather we will reschedule to a different date.
